Tesh-Scope

pdf: tesh-praxinoscope-output

I was inspired by some of the work we saw in class from Dave at beesandbombs, especially his more minimalist works. With only 10 frames to work with I wanted something that looped but stayed visually simple without just bounce back and forth between a starting and ending frame. In some of Dave’s gifs, he has created animations where pieces join a center cube as it scales up, and I based my praxinoscope reel off of a similar concept where a small center triangle scales up as pieces break away from it, creating an infinitely growing triangle loop. I relied heavily on Processing’s scale(), rotate(), and transform(), functions to generate the smaller triangles that breakaway.
