Along the spectrum of first and last word art, technical art is new, but I find that most technical art is always derived out of existing pieces of artwork. For example, having work in the same medium always causes repetition of the same elements, and code can always be copied into different versions. Even technical art’s basis is in drawing, sculpture, and installation. In 3D modeling, pattern generating, and digital installation, it requires some technique in knowing traditional art skills such as composition, aesthetics, and drawing. Therefore, technical novelty to me is always about sharing and improving what already exists.  However, when technology innovates, product design becomes more advanced and more available to everyone else to use. When there is new technology, it becomes easier for people to attain, and the quality of art is more varied. Technical art is not at its highest potential yet, but after time, it surely can be.
